Bent Hamer is Trømso's honoured guest

17/01/2003 - Norway’s Trømso International Film Festival opened on 15 January with the screening of Norwegian director Bent Hamer´s new comedy, Salmer fra kjokkenet (Hymns from the Kitchen). Hamer is a special guest of this year’s edition and the subject of a retrospective.
The 2003 edition of Trømso features 85 new films in its various sections, 18 of which are in competition for the Aurora Award, scheduled to be presented on 19 January. The other European competitors include Icelander Baltasar Kormákur’s Hafid [trailer] (The Sea), Hungarian director György Pálfi’s Hukkle and Italian filmmaking duo Spiro and Scimone’s Due amici [trailer] (Two Friends).
