AWARDS UK

London Critics learn The King’s Speech Another Year

by

The London Critics’ Circle has announced the nominations for its 31st Film Awards and leading the pack are two British films, Tom Hooper’s The King's Speech and Mike Leigh’s Another Year with seven apiece. Clio Barnard’s debut feature The Arbor was another British frontrunner with four nominations.

The Awards will be held at the BFI Southbank on February 10, 2011. The Circle London comprises over 120 members of UK film critics, broadcasters and writers. The Circle’s Chairman, Jason Solomons said, “The critics have been bowled over by the variety and excellence of the nominees this year, from old favourites on top form, such as Mike Leigh, to stupendous debuts such as Clio Barnard’s The Arbor.”
