film profile], which premiered in the Berlinale Panorama sidebar, won Best Austrian Feature Film, Best Actor (Johannes Krisch), Best Actress (Marion Mitterhammer) and Best Cinematography in a Feature Film (Lenna Koppe) at the Diagonale, the Festival of Austrian Film in Graz (March 22-27).

The Best Austrian Documentary Prize went to Ivette Löcker for Night Shift, while Billy Roisz won the Best Innovative Cinema Award for the experimental short Chiles en Nogada.

Umut Dag received the Best Short Fiction for Papa, Karl-Heinz Klopf got the Best Short Documentary for They, and the Best Young Talent Film went to Max Liebich for short experimental You’re Out.

Elfi Mikesch won Best Cinematography in Documentary for MONDO LUX - Die Bilderwelten des Werner Schroeter, which she also directed.

Best Editing in Feature Film went to Evi Romen for the Berlinale entry My Best Enemy [+see also:

film profile], and in the documentary category, Wolfgang Widerhofer scooped the prize for his work on Nikolaus Geyrhalter’s Abendland [+see also:

Andrea Schratzberger won Best Production Design for Johannes Hammel’s Follow Me, and Veronica Albert got Best Costume Design for Sabine Derflinger’s Day and Night.

The Prize for Innovative Production went to Dor Film for Andreas Prochaska’s Die unabsichtliche Entführung der Frau Elfriede Ott and to Nikolaus Geyrhalter Filmproduktion for The Robber [+see also:

The Main Carl Mayer Script Prize was given to Jakob Prettenhofer for Überleben and the Young Talent went to Markus Mörth for Geschwister.

The opening ceremony saw the legendary Senta Berger receive the Grand Diagonale Prize for Acting, practically a lifetime achievement award.
