Northern Ireland hosts Sole, Jump

29/03/2011 - Director and double Oscar nominated screenwriter Terry George (Hotel Rwanda [trailer, film focus], In the Name of the Father) will shoot heist comedy Whole Lotta Sole in Belfast through April and May.
The film will star Brendan Fraser (Furry Vengeance), Martin McCann (Killing Bono [trailer]), Colm Meaney (Kings), Yaya Dacosta (The Kids Are Alright) and David O’Hara (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 [trailer]).
Belfast-based Generator Entertainment is producing with the assistance of the Northern Island Screen Fund, supported by Invest NI and part funded by the European Regional Development Fund.
Meanwhile comedy thriller Jump is currently shooting on location in Derry and Belfast. Kieron J Walsh (When Brendan Met Trudy) is directing from a script by Lisa McGee, based on her eponymous stage play.
Nichola Burley (Wuthering Heights), Martin McCann, Valene Kane (At The End of the Day [trailer]), Richard Dormer (Five Minutes of Heaven [trailer]) and Charlene McKenna (Social Work) star.
Jump received funding from Northern Ireland Screen, supported by Invest NI and part funded by the European Regional Development Fund. Other funders include the Irish Film Board, Firefly Film Sales, BBC Northern Ireland and Bentico Trading Limited.
Brendan J Byrne, of production company Hotshot Films, is producing the film alongside co-producing partner Katie Holly of Blinder Films. London-based AV Pictures are handling international sales.
