TrustNordisk notches up sales

18/05/2011 - Morten Tyldum’s Headhunters, which is being sold by TrustNordisk, has been picked up by several distributors after its market premiere here in Cannes .

Alta Films (Spain), Big Movie (Russia), Insomnia (Ex-Yugoslavia), Mares Filmes (Brazil), Estin Film (Estonia), Independenta Film (Romiania) and Aerofilms (Czech Republic) have all acquired the film, which previously sold to Magnolia (US), NFP (Germany), Momentum (UK), Lumière (Belgium) and Rialto Distribution (Netherlands), amongst others.

Yellow Bird and Friland are producing the film.

TrustNordisk has also presented several other new Zentropa productions in Cannes, at closed promo-screenings, which have been snatched by several distributors.

Nikolaj Arcel’s epic drama A Royal Affair, starring Mads Mikkelsen and Alicia Vikander, has been picked up by Golem (Spain), Metrodome (UK), MFA (Germany), Ascot Elite (Switzerland), Aerofilms (Czech Republic) and Best Film (Poland).

Petter NæssComrade, which stars Rupert Grint amongst others, has been acquired by Metrodome (UK), Kino Świat (Poland) and Vendetta (Australia).

Also, Lars von Trier’s and Martin Scorsese’s collaborative project The Five Obstructions, Trier vs. Scorsese (see news) has been purchased by Kino Świat (Poland), Independenta Film (Romania) and Aero Films (Czech Republic and Slovakia).

TrustNordisk CEO Rikke Ennis said: “Our pre-sale slate has never been stronger and this shows on the sales. The interest has been overwhelming.”
