Hansen-Love, Klotz and Ameur-Zaimèche in competition at Locarno

The arrival last year of Olivier Père (photo), the former Cannes Directors’ Fortnight selector, as artistic director of the Locarno International Film Festival seems to be a pulling point for French film directors.

Indeed, according to our sources, the Swiss festival’s 64th edition (August 3-13) is expected to show, in competition, Nicolas Klotz’s Lovers (see news); Rabah Ameur-Zaïmeche’s Smugglers’ Songs (see news); and Mia-Hansen Love’s Goodbye First Love [+see also:

(see news). The latter’s selection has already been officially confirmed.

in 2007.

Sold internationally by Films Distribution, Goodbye First Love will be launched in French theatres on July 6 by Les Films du Losange, who will also handle both French distribution and international sales for Lovers. Meanwhile, Smugglers’ Songs, which won the Jean Vigo Award (see news), is sold and distributed by MK2.
