German (co-)productions at Karlovy Vary

04/07/2011 - Two German titles are screening in competition at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival (July 1 – 9): Ziska Riemann's Lollipop Monster, a network movie production, and Christian Schwochow's Cracks in the Shell [trailer], produced by teamWorx Produktion.
Anja Strelets' Natascha is running in the documentary competition, while Yasemin Samdereli's Almanya [trailer] and the co-production A Quiet Life [trailer, film focus], by Claudio Cupellini, are presented by Variety within the ambit of 'Ten Euro Directors to Watch'.
The Horizons section welcomes a number of German films - Andreas Dresen's Stopped On Track [trailer] (ex-aequo winner in the Un Certain Regard section of the last Cannes Film Festival), Wim Wenders' Pina [trailer] – and high-profile co-productions – Aki Kaurismäki's Le Havre [trailer, film focus], Pablo Larraìn's Post Mortem [trailer], Saverio Costanzo's The Solitude of Prime Numbers [trailer], and Béla Tarr's Turin Horse [trailer, film focus].
The "2011: A Musical Odyssey" sidebar is presenting Komeda – Soundtrack For a Life by Claudia Buthenhoff-Duffy. More co-productions can be seen in the various other sections, such as Gustavo Taretto's Medianeras [trailer] (Another View), Joe Wright's Hanna [trailer] (Midnight Screenings), and Filippos Tsitos' Plato's Academy [trailer, film focus] (Young Greek Cinema), among others.
Furthermore, renowned actress Sibel Kekilli (When We Leave [trailer, film focus]) is a member of the International Grand Jury.
