by

Thanks to an exceptional June with 14.74m admissions (+35.7% compared to 2010 and the second highest score of the last 32 years for this period), audience figures in French theatres have picked up again after a difficult start to the year, thus curbing a negative trend (three consecutive months of decline). According to estimates published by the National Film and Moving Image Centre (CNC), the first semester recorded 97.26m admissions, i.e. 6.1% less than the period January-June 2010. Audience figures for the past 12 months are estimated at 200.03m.
