Creevy begins Welcome To The Punch

19/07/2011 - Writer/director Eran Creevy (photo) has commenced principal photography on his second feature Welcome To The Punch at 3 Mills Studios and other London locations.

James McAvoy (The Conspirator), Mark Strong (Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy [trailer]) and Andrea Riseborough (Brighton Rock [trailer]), Peter Mullan (Tyrannosaur [trailer]), David Morrissey (Nowhere Boy [trailer]), Daniel Mays (Shifty) and Johnny Harris (The Imaginarium of Dr Parnassus [trailer]) star in the film.

Welcome To The Punch finds ex-criminal Jacob Sternwood (Strong) forced to return to London from his Icelandic hideaway when his son is involved in a heist gone wrong. This gives his nemesis, detective Max Lewinsky (McAvoy), one last chance to catch the man he’s always been after. As the two enemies hurtle towards an unavoidable face off, they start to uncover a deeper conspiracy they both need to solve in order to survive.

Rory Aitken and Ben Pugh will produce through their company Between The Eyes. They said, “We are delighted to continue our partnership with Eran Creevy on Welcome To The Punch, following our successful collaboration on the BAFTA nominated Shifty.”

Brian Kavanaugh-Jones, President of Automatik, will produce alongside Pugh and Aitken. Ridley Scott and Liza Marshall will executive produce for Scott Free London. Momentum Pictures MD Xavier Marchand, IM Global CEO Stuart Ford, Christopher Woodrow and Molly Conners at Worldview Entertainment will also executive produce. Worldview Entertainment, Quickfire Films, the BFI’s Film Fund and Automatik are co-financing.

IM Global is selling international rights and pre-sold the film in 36 territories at the recent Cannes market. Momentum Pictures will distribute in the UK and Aurum Productions in Spain.
