The Runway takes top prize at LUCAS

14/09/2011 - The 34th LUCAS International Children’s Film Festival ran from September 4-11 in Frankfurt. The top winner was Ian Power’s Irish/Luxembourg co-production The Runway, which was awarded the Best Feature Prize (worth €7,500) by a mixed jury comprising children and experts from the profession.
The Best Short Film Prize (worth €3,000) went to Vincent Bruno’s Belgian title Le Maillot de Cristiano, while the Best Animated Short Film Prize (€3,000) was awarded to Portugal’s Pedro Serrazina for Os Olhos do Farol.
The FICC (International Federation of Film Clubs) jury awarded the Don Quixote Prize to Arild Andresen’s Norwegian comedy The Liverpool Goalie [trailer], which previously won two prizes at the latest Berlinale, the Grand Prize at Montreal and the Amanda Norwegian Film Award for Best Children’s Film.
Meanwhile, the audience picked Karla von Bengtson’s Danish animated short Tiger & Tattoos as its favourite.
