With 16 nominations, A Family leads the race for Denmark’s Roberts

, which was launched in competition at the Berlin International Film Festival to win the international critics’ FIPRESCI prize, leads the race for Denmark’s Robert awards, which will be presented at Copenhagen’s Cirkusbygningen on February 5.

A Family received the maximum of 16 nominations, ahead of Martin P. Zandvliet’s A Funny Man [+see also:

(13 noms) – all three are contenders for Best Film, with Ole Christian Madsen’s Superclasico [+see also:

(Denmark’s submission for the Oscars) and Carlos Augusto de Oliveira’s Rosa Morena.

The five top-nominated films scooped 61 noms out of the 85 total, and lead by A Family and Melancholia, productions by Zentropa Entertainments signed 39. Anders W. Berthelsen will compete against himself - he is nominated as Best Actor both for Superclásico and Rosa Morena (which in either case will go to South America). At the awards ceremony Denmark’s Film Academy will also give prizes for Best Documentary (long and short), Best Animation (long and short), Best American and Best Non-US Feature, adding YouSee’s Audience Award. The event is hosted by Søs Egelind and Alexandre Villaume.
