Rodar y Rodar shoots Oriol Paulo’s The Body in Barcelona

18/01/2012 - The day before yesterday, January 16, Oriol Paulo started filming his debut feature, The Body. Shooting will last nine weeks in different locations around Barcelona and at the Audiovisual Park in Terrassa. This psychological thrilleris produced by Rodar y Rodar in co-production with Antena 3 Films, Televisió de Catalunya and Canal+.

This new genre movie marks another collaboration between Antena 3 Films and Barcelona-based production outfit Rodar y Rodar, with whom they produced Guillem Morales’s Julia’s Eyes [trailer], co-written by Paulo, and Sergi Vizcaino’s recent Paranormal Xperience 3D, released over the Christmas period.

Co-scripted by Paulo and Lara Sendim, The Body opens with the discovery of the dead body of a woman which mysteriously disappears from the morgue without a trace. A police inspector investigates the strange incident with the help of the widower.

The cast is one of the film’s main attractions, for it is headed by two heavyweights of Spanish acting: José Coronado (nominated for a Goya for No Rest For the Wicked [trailer]) and Belén Rueda (The Orphanage [trailer], The Sea Inside [trailer]), alongside Hugo Silva and Aura Garrido.

The film is produced by Joaquín Padró and Mar Targarona for Rodar y Rodar with Mercedes Gamero and Mikel Lejarza for Antena 3 Films. It will be distributed in Spain by Sony Pictures Releasing.
