19/01/2012 - After three weeks in Belgium from the end of November until mid-December, Marc Rothemund (pictured - whose comedy Man Tut Was Man Kann will soon be released on screens) is in Hamburg to wrap shooting on his next film, Heute Bin Ich Blond ("Today I’m Blond"), adapted from Sophie Van der Stap’s international bestseller The Girl With Nine Wigs. In this autobiographical account, the young Dutch journalist tells of her fight against cancer.
The director of Sophie Scholl [trailer] has cast newcomer Lisa Tomaschewsky in the lead role, alongside Karoline Teska (The Wave [trailer]), David Rott, Alice Dwyer, Alexander Held and Jasmin Gerat (who appears in last year’s major German hit, Kokowääh, and Man Tut Was Man Kann).
Heute Bin Ich Blond is produced by Andreas Bareiss and Sven Burgemeister for Goldkind Film in co-production with Belgian companies Scope Pictures and Esterházy & Dienst Productions and with backing from the FFA (€250,000), the German Culture Ministry (€250,000), the Hamburg Schleswig-Holstein regional fund (€400,000) and FFF Bavaria. In Germany, the film will be distributed by Universum.
