Closing The Gap launches call for applications

by

MEDIA-supported training course Closing The Gap has opened a call for application aimed at producers willing to take part on the upcoming workshops with an audiovisual project (live action, animation, documentary). The application deadline is March 15, 2012.

Through the course, producers learn innovative financing and transmedia marketing and distribution strategies, prepare a business plan and pitch presentations targeted to an equity investor audience, have a range of networking opportunities, receive extensive one-to-one feedback and pitch coaching and—at the course’s conclusion—pitch their projects to a panel of investors, who will vote on and award a cash prize to the best pitch.

The course trains producers on how to identify, approach and pitch to private-equity investors, teaching business skills that producers can use to find new sources of financing in the current financial climate. Investors participating in the training both as experts and on the pitch panel include venture-capital funds, business-angle networks, public/private funds and mediatech financiers.

For those attending the Berlinale and wishing to receive further details on the course, an information session is to take place on February 11, between 10-11.30am at the Staatliches Institut für Musikforschung, across from the Sony Center at Potsdamer Platz.
