Paolo Ferrari new president of the Rome Film Festival
by Camillo de Marco
06/03/2012 - Paolo Ferrari is the new president of the Rome Film Festival, replacing Gianluigi Rondi, who resigned a few days ago (see the article). It was decided by the assembly of the founding members, which met today. Put forward by the Mayor Gianni Alemanno, Ferrari was elected with 4 of 5 votes (the president of the Provincia di Roma, Nicola Zingaretti, was against).
Paolo Ferrari was president and managing director of Warner Bros. Entertainment Italia and president of Anica.
"Now – said Mayor Alemanno – we are heading towards the nomination of Marco Mueller" as director of the Festival. "I’m really pleased with the nomination", said Ferrari. "Enough chatting now: we have to start working and call the Board of Directors together to nominate the artistic director. 'We have to prepare a good Festival for Rome, a receptive city which deserves it. I thank Piera Detassis and Gian Luigi Rondi for their work'".
The dates for the next edition of the festival have been confirmed: 18-26 October, at the Auditorium.
