and most recently Rubbeldiekatz, has confirmed his commitment to the other side of the camera. Since yesterday, Berlin is the set of his second feature film, Schlussmacher.

Certain ingredients from his first film, What A Man (16th in the 2011 German box office with around 1.8 million admissions and €13m in revenue), in which a young man abandoned by his girlfriend tries to becomes a “real guy”, are back in this new project: the comedy tone, screenwriter Doron Wisotzky, and Schweighöfer (like Schweiger) as the film’s main character.

Schlussmacher is the story of Henri, who works for a break-up agency, and as such has to announce to men and women that their partner wants to leave them. When, during an important mission, he meets the irritatingly clingly Toto (Milan Peschel from What A Man and Rubbeldiekatz), his career plans are severely foiled. The film also features Nadja Uhl, Anna Bederke, Heiner Lauterbach, and Catherine De Léan.

Production is led by Dan Maag, Matthias Schweighöfer, and Marco Beckmann for Pantaleon Films, Pantaleon Entertainment, Amalia Film, and Fox International Productions. Filming is due to go on until May 17, between Berlin and the Brandenburg region, and Frankfurt in the Hesse region. Fox will release the film in Germany on January 10, 2013.
