The festival’s press conference was attended by its editor Cristiano Travaglioli (Il Divo [trailer, film focus], This Must Be The Place [trailer, film focus]) who, in honour of the Festival’s theme, “The End of the World”, created a special montage of images taken from disaster movies for the Festival’s opening night, accompanied by live music by Bill Laswell.

Among the films featured in the Festival’s rich seven day programme, those that stand out include Chris Renaud’s The Lorax, distributed by Universal, Josh Trank’s Chronicles, distribuited by 20th Century Fox Italy, Fernando Trueba’s Chico & Rita [trailer, film focus] (Oscars 2012 Candidate – Best Animation Film), Eric Bergeron’s Un Mostre à Paris [trailer] (kolossal 3D produced by Luc Besson), Ignacio Ferreras’ Arrugas [trailer, film focus] (winner of two Goya Awards 2012), Carlo Shalom Hintermann’s The Dark Side of the Sun (only Italian production), Goro Miyazaki’s From Up On Poppy Hill , distributed by Lucky Red, Joe Cornish’s Attack The Bock, distribuited by Filmauro.

Within the framework of the Festival there will be meetings about 3D and its infinite opportunities of development (Pixar Animation special guest), workshops about "Green Cinema" with zero impact and zero kilometers, workshops on how to create cartoons and an area specifically dedicated to the little ones: FUTURE FILM KIDS.
