by Camillo De Marco
16/04/2012 - "In Seattle Diaz [trailer, film focus] closes the circle", is the director Daniele Vicari's comment in response to the news that his film will be screened at the 38th edition of the Film Festival taking place in June in the US city where the no-global movement originated. "A movement which in Genoa was stopped with cruelty and determination".
The next international date for the film about the violence of the 2001 G8 in Genoa, currently in Italian cinemas, is April 22, in competition at the CPH:PIX Copenhagen Film Festival in the Word Views section.
Meanwhile the seller Fandango Portobello has announced that it has closed an international deal for Diaz with Universal Pictures International Entertainment, which will distribute the film in the UK, Ireland, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxemburg, German Switzerland and Brazil. Vicari's film already has a distributor in France with Le Pacte, in Romania with Mandragora Movies, in Poland with Vivarto, in Spain with Vértigo Films and in Canada with Mongrel Media.
