Host of German (co)productions in Lisbon

02/05/2012 - The 9th edition of IndieLisboa (April 26 – May 6) is currently introducing a significant number of German independent productions and co-productions to the public of the Portuguese capital, three of which are running in the international fiction competition: the unafilm production Formentera by Ann-Kristin Reyels, a Berlinale 2012 selection starring Sabine Timoteo and Thure Lindhardt, and the short films The Centrifuge Brain Project by Till Nowak and Merry-Go-Round by Kristina Kean Shtubert.
The 'Emerging Cinema' sidebar features Jessica Krummacher's Totem [trailer] (Arepo Media GmbH, Klappboxfilme, Lieblingsfilm, Münchner Filmwerkstatt), Julia Loktev's The Loneliest Planet [trailer], a US/German co-production set in Georgia starring Gael Garcia Bernal (Flying Moon Filmproduktion GmbH) and two shorts.
'World Pulse' presents the acclaimed documentary of modern theme and aesthetics Work Hard – Play Hard (HUPE Film) by Carmen Losmann, as well as Carolin Schmitz' Beauty [trailer] (unafilm) and the Ma.Ja.De Filmproduktions-GmbH co-production Vivan las Antipodas! [trailer] by Victor Kossakovsky.
The 'Observatory' section includes Romuald Karmakar's The Flock of the Lord (Pantera Film), Austrian doc expert Michael Glawogger'sWhore's Glory (co-produced by Quinte Film), and a Finnish/German short by Jani Ruscica. A few more German titles are spread between the junior section and the special screenings.
