18/05/2012 - Sola Media, which specialises in quality family films, unveiled yesterday to the handful of buyers who had pre-bought Marco Macaco - Let’s Go Bananas (photo) the full feature-length version of the film, in anticipation of its first cinema outing in Denmark in the fall. Directed by newcomer Jan Rahbek, the comedy has been pre-sold to territories such as Poland (Kino Swiat International) and Latin America (Leda Films). “Pre-selling pre-school content can be a bit hard, but I have no problem pre-selling family films for the 4-12 age group says Managing Director Solveig Langeland.
After the monkey Marco Macaco’s adventures, Sola Media is unveiling today (18 May) at the market the live feature Victor And the Secret of Crocodile Mansion co-directed by Cyril Boss and Philipp Stennert. The thriller for kids had its German premiere in March via Constantin Film AG. The major German independent distributor’s recent success When Santa Fell to Earth [trailer] by Olivier Dieckmann is also screening at the market, alongside the Estonian/Latvian animation hit Lotte and the Moonstone Secret [trailer].
Langeland is anxiously waiting for the first BO figures of the 3D animation film Jelly T [trailer] that opened yesterday in Denmark. At her Riviera Booth E8, the sales executive is screening a brand-new promo of the film from the creators of Help, I’m a Fish. A new promo of the family epic Journey to the Christmas Star by Academy award-nominee Nils Gaup is also available in Cannes. The Norwegian film, starring Anders Basmo Christiansen (North [trailer, film focus]) and Agnes Kittelsen (Happy, Happy [trailer]) will be ready this Christmas from Walt Disney Company Nordic.
