In the Fog wins FIPRESCI Prize

26/05/2012 - The International Federation of Film Critics (FIPRESCI) has handed out its prizes at the end of the 65th edition of the Cannes Film Festival. In the competition, the FIPRESCI Prize went to In the Fog [trailer] by Ukrainian director Sergei Loznitsa (read the review), a film co-produced by the Netherlands.
In the Un Certain Regard selection, the winner was Beasts of the Southern Wild by American filmmaker Benh Zeitlin.
The FIPRESCI Prize for the sidebar sections went to Hold Back [trailer, film focus] by French director Rachid Djaïdani (review), which was screened at the Directors’ Fortnight.
The Eucumenical Jury gave its award to The Hunt [trailer, film focus] by Danish film director Thomas Vinterberg, which was well-received in the official competition (read the review). A special mention also went to Beasts of the Southern Wild.
