'Nuovo Cinema Italia' in Vienna

29/05/2012 - Paola Randi's film, Into Paradiso [trailer] (photo) will open the 12th edition of the Nuovo Cinema Italia, the festival of Italian cinema taking place in Vienna from May 31- June 22, in the presence of the director and the actress Margherita Di Rauso.
The festival, which has been running since 2001, takes place in the Votiv Kino, a prestigious cinema in the centre of Vienna, specialised in high quality cinema. It's an initiative of the Made in Italy association, in collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute and the Ministry for Cultural Goods and Activities / General Directorate for Cinema and, after Vienna, there will also be a tour around Austria, stopping off in Innsbruck and Graz.
The festival will also offer up a tribute to Margherita Buy, showing four of the actress' brilliant performances, with the screening of Gabriele Salvatores' Happy Family [trailer]; Francesca Comencini's The White Spaceo [trailer], Silvio Soldini's Days and Clouds [trailer] and Giuseppe Piccioni's Not of this World.
The programme is completed by: Paolo Genovese's The Immature [trailer]; Paolo Virzì's The First Beautiful Thing [trailer]; Giorgio Diritti's The Man Who Will Come [trailer, film focus] and Carlo Mazzacurati's documentary Six Venice. The film's screenings are in the original language with German subtitles.
