MegaCom Film picks up 12 Cannes titles for former Yugoslavia

30/05/2012 - The Belgrade-based distribution and exhibition company MegaCom Film (MCF) has acquired rights for 12 films from the Festival de Cannes, including the Palme d’Or winner Love [trailer, film focus] by Michael Haneke, for territories of the former Yugoslavia.
In co-operation with Croatia’s Continental Film and Slovenia’s Padora, MCF has also purchased the Jury Prize winner The Angels' Share [trailer, film focus] by Ken Loach, Post Tenebras Lux [trailer] for which Carlos Reygadas received the Best Director award, and Xavier Dolan’s Laurence Anyways [trailer], which gained Suzanne Clément the Un Certain Regard Award for Best Actress.
MCF also picked up the rights for Leos Carax’s Holy motors [trailer, film focus], Abbas Kiarostami’s Like Someone in Love [trailer], Gilles Bourdos’s Renoir [trailer], Alain Resnais’ You Ain’t Seen Nothin’ Yet, Walter Salles’ On the Road [trailer], Bernardo Bertolucci’s Me and You [trailer], Lou Ye’s Mystery [trailer], and the Spanish-French co-production omnibus 7 days in Havana [trailer].
