by Cineuropa

Young Audience Film Day: kids vote for the first EFA Young Audience Award07/06/2012 - Sunday sees the Young Audience Film Day: on June 10 the three films nominated for the first edition of the European Film Academy Young Audience Award will be screened at the same time to a jury of kids in different European cities.

The films nominated, Gust Van den Berghe's Blue Bird [trailer] (Belgium), Boudewijn Koole's Kauwboy [trailer] (Holland) and Ursula Meier's Sister [trailer, film focus] (France/Switzerland) will be screened to an audience of kids aged between 10 and 13 at the Turin's National Cinema Museum and, at the same time, in Amsterdam, Belgrade, Copenhagen, Erfurt and Norrköping. The young cinephiles will spend the whole day at the cinema and between one screening and another, they will have the opportunity to discuss the films seen to then vote on their favourite at the end of the day. The whole day will be documented by a film crew and extracts from this first edition of the Young Audience Film Day will briefly be available online!
