Salvatores's Siberian Education ready for Berlin
by Camillo de Marco
11/06/2012 - Gabriele Salvatores' (photo) Siberian Education could be selected at the next Berlin Film Festival in February. The Oscar-winning director's new film will in fact not be ready on time for the Venice Film Festival or the Rome Film Festival.
"We still have to work on a few scenes and finish editing. The English edition should therefore be ready by end of August, while we should manage to get the Italian version done by January/February 2013", Salvatores said on the margins of the presentation of the 56th edition of the Locarno Film Festival in Rome. So Berlin. "Why not? It's a festival I like and to which I already brought I'm Not Scared [trailer]".
Shot in Vilnius, the film is based on the hononymous best-seller by Nicolai Lilin (published in Italy by Einaudi), and starring John Malkovich, Peter Stormare and Eleanor Tomlinson. It is a Cattleya production with Rai Cinema and the contribution of MiBac.
