Sorrentino president of the Torino Film Festival, Grand Prix goes to Loach

26/06/2012 - Paolo Sorrentino (photo) will preside over the jury of the 30th Torino Film Fesitval. The Neapolitan writer/director who will begin in August shooting his latest film La grande bellezza, with Toni Servillo, Carlo Verdone and Sabrina Ferilli, will guide the jury of the International Feature Competition or the Turinese festival directed by Gianni Amelio, which will be held from the 23rd of November to the 1st of December this year.
British director Ken Loach will be awarded the Gran Premio Torino of this 30th edition. Loach will be present in Turin, as well as the screenwriter Paul Lavery, to receive the award and to present the Italian preview screening of The Angel’s Share [trailer, film focus][trailer, film focus], his new comedy about a group of unemployed youth in Glasgow who find a better life through Scottish whisky. Distributed in Italy by Bim, The Angel’s Share won the Jury Prize at this year’s Cannes Film Festival.
