film profile] (Csak a szél - read more) has now been selected to represent Hungary in the race for a nomination for the 2013 Oscar for best film in a foreign language, to be awarded next February 24 after the five final nominations are announced on January 10.

Just The Wind is a rural thriller set against a backdrop of racism in which a Gypsy family from the great plains is being pursued by killers. It also won the Jury Prize at the Paris Cinéma Festival and is one of three films to have been nominated for the European Parliament’s LUX Prize 2012 to be awarded on November 21.

After his talent was revealed in the Forum section at the 2003 Berlinale with his feature debut Forest, the 38-year-old filmmaker then went on to make the award-winning Dealer in 2004, the experimental Milky Way (Golden Leopard in Locarno in the Filmmakers of the Present section in 2007), and Womb [+see also:
