With it, Calparsoro returns to his reference genre of the thriller. While the action in Invasor was set in the army, this time the director plunges into the world of illegal drag racing. The film is produced by Zeta Cinema and Antena 3 Films, and shooting is set to last eight weeks until November 24 in both Lisbon and Madrid.

As in Invasor, Spain-based Argentinian actor Alberto Ammann (who was catapulted into fame by Unit 211 [+see also:

) is to star in the film, beside Alex González and Adriana Ugarte.

Its screenplay, written by Carlos Montero and Jaime Vaca, is centred on Mikel, who is about to marry Julia, the owner of a jewelry shop that she inherited from her parents. But he meets Ari, for whom he feels immediate attraction. Slowly, he feels increasingly drawn to her and fascinated by her world, that of illegal car races, and he breaks up with Julia. When Mikel discovers that Ari has in fact been playing with him, it is too late to turn back. He has already passed over to the other side and, to prove it, will have to take the most difficult decision of his life.

Combustión is set to be released in April 2013. With it, Zeta Cinema and Antena 3 Films have consolidated the fruitful partnership behind successful films like I Want You [+see also:
