Oscar-winner Giuseppe Tornatore’s new film The Best Offer (photo) will bring in 2013. Tornatore has been absent from the film circuit since his 2009 film Baarìa. Distributed by Warner Bros. Italia, his latest piece of work stars Australian Academy Award-winner Geoffrey Rush, playing an auctioneer (read the news story). On January 3, KitchenFilm will be releasing Children of Sarajevo by Aida Begic. The film took its first steps in the TorinoFilmLab and won a special mention during the last edition of Cannes in the Certain Regard section.

Other Christmas releases are mainly to be American: Robert Redford’s The Company You Keep, Ang Lee’s Life of Pi, long-awaited The Master by Paul Thomas Anderson (Best Director in Venice and Volpi Cup for his stars), Wreck-it Ralph and Jack Reacher starring Tom Cruise.
