StudioCanal launches sales of Mindscape and El niño

Yesterday, at the European Film Market at the 63rd Berlinale (from February 7th to 17th), the French international sales company StudioCanal, which is exploiting the potential for genre movies in English directed by emerging Spanish talents, officially launched pre-sales of the thrillers Mindscape (article) by Jorge Dorado(filming nearly finished, with British actors Mark Strong and Brian Cox) and El niño (article) by Daniel Monzon (to be filmed this spring, starring Luis Tosar, Sergi Lopez and Ian McShane). These two titles join the line-up also featuring the American film Non-Stop by their compatriot Jaume Collet-Serra (currently in post-production, with Liam Neeson and Julianne Moore).

The line-up also includes two animated 3D movies by Belgian director Ben Stassen (The House of Magic, currently in production, and African Safari, in post-production), together with several titles in post-production such as the British-American-French film The Two Faces of January by Hossein Amini (with a cast including Viggo Mortensen and Kirsten Dunst), Inside Llewyn Davis by American brothers Joel et Ethan Coen (with Oscar Isaac, Justin Timberlake and Carey Mulligan) and Mood Indigo by French director Michel Gondry (article - with Audrey Tautou, Romain Duris, Omar Sy and Gad Elmaleh – to be released in France on April 24th and already purchased by about 30 countries).

Also worth mentioning in the area of market screenings, the comedy I Give It a Year by Dan Mazer (a Working Title production launched today on British screens), the horror movie In Fear by Jeremy Lovering (unveiled at Sundance) and the French family comedy Billy and Buddy (article) by duo Franck Magnier – Alexandre Charlot (to be released in France on February 27th).
