Signed by the director, Aïcha Yacoubi and Abdel Hafed Benotman (who co-wrote Sur la planche [+see also:

film profile] by Leila Kilani), the screenplay focuses on Benjamin, aged 13, a child at war with life. Raw to the bone, he carries a lot of violence in him. Since the age of five, he has gone back and forth between foster homes. One day, his mother goes to prison and reveals to the social workers that Benjamin has a father. Benjamin then decides to go live with this father who lives on a council estate in the suburbs of Paris.

Produced by Pierre-Emmanuel Le Goff and Natacha Delmon-Casanova for La Vingt-Cinquième Heure (for which it will be the first feature film), Fièvres is co-produced by Invest Image 1 and the Moroccan company Président Production, and notably benefits from backing from the Ile-de-France region, Doha film Institute and Sofica Cinémage. The film has also been funded by the CNC with a screenwriting subsidy and through the “Images de la diversité” fund. Commune Image Media (which released Donoma amongst others) will take care of distribution in French cinemas. International sales are still being negotiated.
