 may be coming out in French movie theatres on May 22, while its Italian premiere has been set for May 23. Distributors are respectively Pathé Distribution and Medusa. The long-awaited film by Paolo Sorrentino, which will most likely be in competition in Cannes, is a French Italian coproduction by Indigo Film and Medusa Film, in association with the Banca Popolare di Vicenza, Babe Films and Pathé.

Conceived and written by Sorrentino himself with Umberto Contarello, the film was set and entirely shot in Rome. Little is known of the plot, and its first teaser, released two days ago hints at even less. Alongside Toni Servillo – once more accompanying Sorrentino – an impressive cast: Carlo Verdone, Sabrina Ferilli, Carlo Buccirosso, Iaia Forte, Pamela Villoresi, Galatea Ranzi, Anna Della Rosa, Giovanna Vignola, Roberto Herlitzka, Massimo De Francovich, Giusi Merli, Giorgio Pasotti, Massimo Popolizio, Isabella Ferrari, Franco Graziosi, Sonia Gessner, Luca Marinelli, Dario Cantarelli, Ivan Franek, Anita Kravos, Luciano Virgilio, Giulio Brogi, Vernon  Dobtcheff, Serena Grandi, Lillo Petrolo. 

Luca Bigazzi is director of photography, Stefania Cella and Daniela Ciancio are behind the scenes and costumes, Cristiano Travaglioli is in charge of editing, while Lele Marchitelli is the soundtrack.
