Louder Than Bombs is a major project aimed at the international markets. Trier is trying to carve out a name as a director, and we know that this movie is expected with great interest both nationally and internationally, said Norwegian Film Institute's former director of production and development, Ivar Køhn.

Scripted by Eskil Vogt (Oslo, August 31st), the €6.8 million production by Hans-Jørgen Osnes and Sigve Endresen for Oslo-based Motlys stars French actress Isabelle Huppert, Irish actor Gabriel Byrne and US actor Jesse Eisenberg in the story of a famous woman war photographer, Laura (Huppert), who is killed in a car accident.

Her husband (Byrne) lives with their teenage son, when three years after her death their eldest son comes back home for the opening of a retrospective exhibition of Laura’s  photography. They all have different memories of the exceptional and successful woman, and they discover an unsettling secret from her past – did any of them really know her, and what are they hiding from each other?

Louder Than Bombs, which will be released domestically by Euforia Film, is co-produced by Denmark’s Nimbus Film, France’s Memento Films, Germany’s Majade Films and Albert Berger-Ron Yerxa from Boda Fide Productions (US). Memento handles French distribution and international sales.
