film profile], the revelation of the Directors’ Fortnight in Cannes, is raising expectations among French theatre operators who hope it will energize the box-office, which is doing better since the beginning of autumn. It is worth noting that this first feature directed by the member of the Comédie Française (who also exceptionally plays the two lead roles, that of a son looking for his identity and that of his mother), has been purchased for Germany (Concorde), Italy (Eagle), Spain (A Contracorriente), Belgium (Victory), Switzerland (JMH), Portugal (Lusomundo), Greece (Odeon), the CIS, Brazil, Hong-Kong, Taiwan and South Korea. According to Yohann Comte from Gaumont’s international sales team, "Me Myself and Mum is selling very well because people love it straight away as there is no equivalent film or evident reference besides some Almodóvar movies. But the humour and the emotion resonate with the distributors who are creative and passionate enough to give it a go”.

Also in theatres, the Franco-Israeli production Victor Young Perez by Jacques Ouaniche (who also produced the film) which tells the story of the exceptional destiny of a Jewish Tunisian boxer who won the world title in the flyweight category and later died in deportation in January 1945. In the lead roles of this film distributed on 170 screens by Océan Films, we find Brahim Asloum (Olympic boxing champion in 2000 and winner of a world title in 2007) and Steve Suissa.

Finally, animation makes an appearance this Wednesday with two quality features. Gaumont releases in 428 cinemas Magic Snowflake [+see also:
