Gianni Amelio will take part in the 64th Berlin Film Festival (6-16 February 2014) with his new documentary Felice chi è diverso [+see also:

, selected in the Panorama/DOKUMENTE section.

“Felice chi è diverso is a journey through a secret Italy, which rarely gets captured on film. It is homosexual Italy, from the 19th century, to the beginning of the next century to the 1980s,” the director, who recently competed in Venice with his film The Intrepid, explained.

“A journey made up of stories gathered from the northern and southern parts of the country, based on those who had to endure being different first-hand. Tales of repression, censorship, dignity and happiness.”

The film, produced by Luce-Cinecittà with Rai Cinema and Rai Trade, with contribution from Mibact and in collaboration with Telecom Italia’s Cubovision, will be distributed by Luce-Cinecittà in cinemas at the beginning of March and will be available through Cubovision, on demand at the end of that same month. 

Italy will also be present in Berlin with Il sud è niente [+see also:
