Little Grey Fergie – Norway’s most famous tractor, a Ferguson TE20 – will shortly be leaving the garage for another three children’s films, produced by Kjersti Thorstad and Silje Hopland Eik for Cinenord Kidstory. The grey vehicle’s last performance on the big screen was in Norwegian director Trond Jacobsen’s Little Grey Fergie and His New Friend Clunky (2011).

Cinenord owners Silje Hopland Eik and Tanya Nanette Badendyck have two movies in their current cinema line-up: Katarina Launing’s Kick It! and Arne Lindter NæssCasper and Emma’s Winter Vacation. Casper and Emma will shortly appear for Næss again …on Safari.

At the same time, they have agreed with Norway’s Fantasi-fabrikken (Fantasy Factory – Morten Myklebust and Anne Thowsen) to feature its Little Grey Fergie, which is very different from most tractors. Small and smart, with a big heart and very popular with kids, he likes to drive on his own when nobody can see him.

“Comedy, action and entertainment,” promised Thorstad. “We look forward to making some new and funny films about him for children all over the country; he already has a lot of fans in Norway, and we hope he will get more.” Thorstad and Eik want to slightly update the character, without changing his traditional values.

Fantasi-fabrikken created Little Grey Fergie (Gråtass in Norwegian) in the 1990s – besides his films, he has appeared on television, in books, games and various merchandising in Norway. Since last year, he has also been exposed to UK audiences. Cinenord will shoot the three new films from this autumn, with the first to premiere at the start of the 2015 school year.
