, the film will be shot in English and will feature an international, Oscar-winning cast, including Michael Caine, Harvey Keitel, Rachel Weisz, Paul Dano, and Jane Fonda

According to unofficial sources, Youth is the story of Fred Ballinger (Michael Caine), a great orchestra conductor on holiday in a hotel in the Alps with his daughter Lena and friend, Mick, a director who is finding his latest film difficult to wrap up. Fred gave up on his music career years ago, but someone is determined for him to conduct again. From London, a Queen Elizabeth II emissary arrives, asking him to head an orchestra at Buckingham Palace for Prince Philip’s birthday.   

Filming will take place in Switzerland, Italy and England. The film was conceived and written by the director himself, Luca Bigazzi will be in charge of photography, David Lang music, Ludovica Ferrario staging, Carlo Poggioli costumes, Cristiano Travaglioli editing.

Youth is an Italian Swiss French and English co-production: Indigo Film in collaboration with Medusa Film for Italy; C-Films for Switzerland; Bis Films and Pathé for France; Number 9 Films for England. The film will also be benefitting from the support of Eurimages.

Release is set for Spring 2015. Medusa Film will distribute, while international sales will be taken care of by Pathé International.
