Frontières announces the projects selected for its fourth edition

Just over a month after its first European edition in Brussels (read our report on the pitching sessions), the Frontières International Co-Production Market has selected the official line-up of Frontières projects for its fourth edition.

For its return to Montréal’s Fantasia International Film Festival (24-27 July) 12 projects have been selected, hailing from Canada, Germany, Ireland, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Portugal, the UK and the United States. This selection boasts a higher-than-usual concentration of fresh talents, many of them presenting first feature film projects after many award-winning shorts, or second features following debuts that travelled extensively on the festival circuit. Filmmakers with extensive directing experience, such as Gabriel Pelletier (Karmina), George Mihalka (My Bloody Valentine) and Simon Rumley (The Living and the Dead [+see also:

Krupa’s The Extractor (Canada), Simon Rumley’s The Godless (United Kingdom), Todd E. Freeman’s Love Sick (US), David Prior’s The Offing (US), Andreas Schaap’s Print the Legend (Germany), George Mihalka’s Revelations (Canada), James Sizemore’s Rite of the Witch Goddess (Canada), João AlvesThrough the Eyes of a Child (Portugal) and Gabriel Pelletier’s Vaporetto 13 (Canada).

Frontières is the first and only co-production market to connect North America with Europe in an environment focused specifically on genre-film production (read the interview with director Stephanie Trepanier). The Off-Frontières selection of projects will make a return and will be announced mid-June. Accreditations for Frontières @ Fantasia will open on 26 May.
