, the new film by Michele Placido, inspired by the comedy “L’innesto” by Luigi Pirandello and produced by Charlot and Goldenart, is among the five projects that will obtain contributions from the Apulia National & International Film Fund. The total investment made by the fund in Apulia amounted to €558,650, with an economic impact on the ground calculated at being €2,421,665.

The cast of La scelta, which will be filmed between 23 June and 2 August between Bisceglie and the Bari province, will include Ambra Angiolini, Raoul Bova, Valeria Solarino and Placido himself. Aside from Placido’s feature film, other beneficiaries include television film La freccia del Sud (Casanova Multimedia – Rai Fiction) by Ricky Tognazzi, two shorts, Terroir (Bunker Lab) by Antonio Catania and L’ombra di Caino (Peperonitto Snc) by Antonio De Paolo, and the non-formatted La musica provata (Oh! Pen Italia) by Alessandro Gassman. 

Other productions already financed by the Apulia National & International Film Fund are Il racconto dei racconti' (Archimede Film) by Matteo Garrone, Latin Lover (Lumière & Co.) by Cristina Comencini, Zio Gaetano è morto [+see also:

The first funding tranche of 2014 from the Trentino Film Commission fund is to support seven new projects: three cinema and television ones and four documentaries. 

The films are Il Traduttore, second film by Massimo Natale (L’estate di Martino), with Claudia Gerini and Marcin Korcz, produced by new Kalitera Production srl; Mucche senza campo by Anna Di Francisca, produced by Paypermoon srl, and co-production English Italian The Habit of Beauty [+see also:

Documentaries receiving funding are Sharp Families, directed by Patrick Grassi, Il sogno irrealizzato di Leonardo directed by Patrick Foch, I Castelli del Trentino directed by Federica Forti and Il colore dell’erba, directed by Juliane Biasi

Approaching is the 16 June deadline for the next 2014 funding call, which has been set by the Giunta Provinciale for €1,200,000. Local, national and international productions can apply for help in the making of fiction films, documentaries and television series.
