Alexandre Desplat, the internationally renowned French film composer, will be the president of the International Jury for the Competition of the 71st Venice International Film Festival (27 August – 6 September 2014), which will award the Golden Lion for Best Film and the other official prizes. It is the first time a film composer chairs the Jury for the competition of the Venice Film Festival.
