by (f.l.)

05/05/2003 - Created ten years ago by the French association for actors’ rights, Adami has launched acting talents of the calibre of Audrey Tautou, Samy Naceri and Sylvie Testud. 35 young actors, selected from over 1000 candidates, will to be introduced to the international film industry at the 11th edition of Cannes Talents on 19 May at the Cannes Film Festival (15-25 May). The presentation includes the screening of 15 short films featuring these talents that were produced by Adami, Switzerland’s Agora Films and Maïa Films.

In addition, five filmmakers who also happen to be actors, will each make three 3-minute films on the subject of "Talk to Me With Love". They are Zabou Breitman (Se souvenir des belles choses [trailer], Laetitia Colombani (A La folie... Pas du tout), Laurence Côte (who starred in André Téchiné’s Les Voleurs), Francis Perrin (Tête à claque) and Marina De Van (who directed Dans Ma Peau [trailer] and co-wrote the screenplays for François Ozon's 8 Women [trailer] and Sous la sable [trailer].

All of the above films will also be subsequently screened at the Cinéma des Cinéastes in Paris, as well as at numerous film and TV festivals including the Beaune Screenings, FIPA, Premiers Plans in Angers, Clermont-Ferrand, the Women’s Film Festival of Bordeaux and Fiction TV in St Tropez. 1200 VHS copies of these films will also be distributed to industry operators (agents, casting directors and production companies). A very welcome and much needed showcase for the 35 young talents eager for the fame and fortune their predecessors achieved thanks to Cannes Talents.
