Eurimages supports 17 co-productions

At its 136th meeting held from 13 to 16 October 2014 in Strasbourg, the Board of Management of the Council of Europe's Eurimages Fund agreed to support 16 feature film and one documentary projects for a total amount of 4 538 000 Euros.

The Liberation Of Skopje (Osloboduvanje na Skopje) - Rade Serbedzija (Croatia) (“The former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia”, Croatia, Finland) 

In the framework of the distribution support programme, Scheme I (Support for marketing and publicity costs), the Board has granted its support to 72 films released between 1 January and 30 June 2014. The total support granted represents €327,845.

In the framework of the Scheme II (Support for measures for fostering awareness of European Cinema), the Board of Management has granted its support to one innovative project, which will be launched in Serbia. The support granted amounts to €37,750 to the Serbian project « Balkan Film Connection – educational program and networking platform ».

Concerning theatre support, the Board confirmed the integration of Dom Kino, Saratov – Kinoclub «Magic Lantern » (Russia) into the Eurimages/Europa Cinemas network. To this day, there are a total of 69 theatres in the network.

The Board also decided to grant support for digital equipment to two Turkish cinemas (Cinemarine Bodrum and Cinemarine Balikesir). Finally, this programme having now met its objectives, it will be discontinued at the end of 2014.

Since it was set up in 1988, EURIMAGES has supported 1,619 European co-productions for a total amount of approximately 492 million euros.
