Aldo, Giovanni and Giacomo are still miles ahead in the Cinetel ranking of box-office takings, even at the start of this week. Following the incredible feat it achieved last weekend (the theatrical release of the film, taking €2,303,000 in four days), Il ricco, il povero e il maggiordomo has raked in another €339,000 over the first two days of the week (€156,000 on Monday and €183,000 on Tuesday), establishing itself as the most-seen movie this week.

With its €2,642,000 in takings as of today, the comedy, produced by Agidi and Medusa Film – which is distributing it in 500 theatres (with an increase to 600 looking likely) – has thus seriously outpaced the other Italian Christmas comedy that came out last Thursday, Ma tu di che segno 6? by Neri Parenti (distributed by Key Films in over 400 cinemas). The latter therefore has to settle for second place, with €1,220,000 (€1,071,000 taken over the weekend, €67,000 on Monday and €82,000 on Tuesday).

The third place on the podium is occupied by the new comedy by Woody Allen, starring Emma Stone and Colin Firth: Magic in the Moonlight (distributed by Warner Bros Pictures across 400 screens). In its second week of release, it earned €887,000 (€787,000 at the weekend, €47,000 on Monday and €53,000 on Tuesday), dropping down to third place in the weekly ranking and racking up total takings of €2,984,000 as of today.
