03/03/2015 - The Saas-Fee Filmfest is preparing to launch its eagerly awaited second edition, which will take place from 18-22 March in the famous ski resort in Valais

Stefan Fichtner and Gabriel Zurbriggen, the two directors of the Saas-Fee Filmfestival, are delighted to reveal the details of the second edition of a festival that is starting to make a serious name for itself. The competition will include a cluster of nine fiction feature films hailing from Switzerland as well as from other countries bordering the Swiss Confederation (Austria, Germany, France and Italy). For its second edition, the SFFF will host a new section entitled “Young SFFF”, dedicated to children and teenagers, which will feature a screening of the debut film Be My Baby by German director Christina Schiewe, an intense and complex drama about the relationship between a mother and her daughter, who suffers from Down’s syndrome. The morning sessions will be dedicated to screenings of movies directed by members of the jury, or those in which they have performed. These include Silberwald by Basel-born filmmaker Christine Repond. As was the case last year, the official jury will be complemented by a critics’ jury consisting of Cristina Nord (Taz), Jay Weissberg (Variety) and Christoph Schneider (Tagesanzeiger).
