, the Madrilenian actress still appears to be an inspiration for independent cinema. Javier Rebollo wants her for his project La cerillera (which he is attempting to get off the ground with French, German, Swiss and Spanish producers), and in May she will place herself into the hands of Nely Reguera for the first foray into the world of feature films undertaken by this 36-year-old, Barcelona-born short-film director. and the short film El caminante, shot in New York and based on the comic The Walking Man by Jirō Taniguchi. The last producer is Catalan outfit Promo Allanda, and the movie will receive support from the ICAA (Film and Audiovisual Arts Institute), AGADIC (the Regional Government of Galicia) and Televisión Gallega.

In María (y los demás), Lennie will be joined by such actors as José Ángel Egido and Julián Villagrán as they portray the dilemma experienced by the 35-year-old titular character, who, since she was 15 years old, has taken over the reins of her family. When her mother passed away, she had to take charge of her siblings; and now that her father is about to get married, the world of this proud, responsible and overbearing woman is being shaken to the core. This is a role made to measure for the great talent of Bárbara Lennie, who will also be appearing in the larks of Dying Beyond Their Means [+see also:
