The support fund for development supervised by the CNC and MIBACT (the Italian Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities), which is designed to encourage cooperation as early on as possible between French and Italian co-writers and co-producers, selected eight projects out of the 27 applications under consideration in Paris on 16 April. Standing out among them is Sicilian Ghost by Fabio Grassadonia and Antonio Piazza, whose feature debut, Salvo [+see also:

, seduced the Cannes Critics’ Week in 2013.

Three other projects of Italian initiative were accepted: 40% by Marco Petteleno, Contre vent by Massimilio Zanin and Une saison parfaite by Vittorio Moroni.

The list of selections is rounded off by four projects of French initiative: Linda veut du poulet by Chiara Malta and Sébastien Laudenbach, Noir et blanc by Annarita Zambrano, Sème le vent by Danilo Caputo, and Trois enfances by Simone Massi and Alessio Torino.

The committee’s next session will take place in September 2015 in Italy. For the record, the fund is endowed with an annual budget of €500,000, provided by the CNC and MIBACT in equal measure.
