This was announced by Nicola Claudio, president of Rai Cinema, one of the co-producers of the film, alongside Sacher Film, Fandango and French outfit Le Pacte. International sales for the title are taken care of by Films Distribution.

"At the Cannes international market, Mia madre has been acquired by Argentina, Chile and all the main countries in Latin America; in Europe, it has been sold to Spain, Great Britain, Scandinavia, the Benelux and a raft of others. Even Japan has acquired the rights for the movie," said Claudio.

"The superb reception by the foreign press and the fact that it has attracted the attention of the most important international markets stand as a testament to the extraordinary power of Moretti’s film, as it is able to speak to audiences all around the world.
