However, the month of June sent some positive signals, as some 11.99 million viewers visited the country’s movie theatres, a total that is up 5.6% compared to June 2014 and is an upturn following three consecutive months of declining admissions compared to the previous year.

As for market shares, French films represented 36.5% of the admissions for the first half of 2015 (48.4% for the same period last year), as against 48.4% for US productions and 15.1% for features from other countries.
