Renowned American actress Diane Keaton and acclaimed Irish actor Brendan Gleeson are attached to star in Hampstead, to be directed by British director Joel Hopkins, winner of the BAFTA’s Carl Foreman Award for the Most Promising Newcomer for his debut feature Jump Tomorrow. The script is by Robert Festinger, Oscar nominated for In The Bedroom. Set in the London suburb of Hampstead, an upscale neighbourhood bordering the huge Hampstead Heath, the film will follow Keaton who plays an American widow who is a bit out of sorts. Looking out of her window at the Heath one day, she spots a dishevelled man (Gleeson) by a dilapidated hut. He has been waging a lone battle against property developers who have been trying to evict him and Keaton takes up his cause.
