Call for projects for the second edition of Arché

Arché, a lab dedicated to project development, has announced a call for entries, which will run until 15 August. The event will be held from 24-30 October in Lisbon, and participation is free of charge.

After a promising first edition, Arché’s second instalment will be divided into two workshops: one dedicated to writing and project development, and a second one focused on viewing and discussing works in progress. Tutors include producer and programmer Marta Andreu, and former ARTE commissioning editor Luciano Rigolini.

As was the case for its previous edition, Arché is open to Portuguese and Spanish projects. But this year, thanks to a partnership with Swiss Films, Arché will also receive projects from Switzerland. The goal is to promote a closer working relationship between the production outfits of these three countries.

In addition, Arché and MRG/Work, the training and development laboratory of Spanish film festival Márgenes, are renewing their collaboration, aiming to foster creative development and to promote exchanges between Portuguese and Spanish directors and producers. Therefore, a representative of Márgenes will select a Portuguese project from Arché to take part in MRG/Work.

Arché will be held in parallel with Doclisboa – the Lisbon International Documentary Film Festival (20-30 October) – which has already announced that Rita Azevedo Gomes’ latest film, Correspondências (read more), and Cláudia Varajão’s Ama-San [+see also:
